The Shanghai Marathon is a sports event hosted by the Chinese Association of Athletics Federations and the Shanghai Sports Federation.
It began on September 28, 1996 and was awarded the “Gold Label Event” by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
It is the third “Gold Label” marathon in China.
